Being a part of the OSS family has been life changing for me. I am currently an eight grader here at OSS, and through kindergarten, all the way to my last year here, I have been supported through my struggles by friends, teachers, and staff alike. I see the value of experiential learning, and high parental involvement, because it provides you with the ability to grow and thrive in a place where you feel supported by your teachers and friends, and find curiosity and inspiration in new and interesting experiences from field trips, older grades, and school wide traditions such as Oceans 411, or Wing Ding. Because of this experience, I want to go on to be a passionate activist and leader for growth and development. Ocean Shore has paved the way for me to find hope and justice, and this beautiful place should not be taken away from Pacifica. -Meadow Mendoza, 8th grader
