As a public school, Ocean Shore School receives state and local funding that covers most of our basic needs. Everything above that—everything that makes OSS so special—comes from our community.
Ocean Shore School provides our children with unique, experiential learning opportunities that require funding not provided by the school district. It’s what makes us US! While our mission remains the same, this year is anything but. We recognize the impact of COVID-19 on our families and local businesses. The focus of our fundraising efforts this year will be on activities that promote connections between students, parents, teachers, staff, and our community.
The Annual Fund is where our community gets to shine and show our collective spirit of generosity. Just as important as how much money we raise is that each family participates in whatever way is meaningful to them (donating time, money, resources, etc). Getting as close to 100% participation as possible is a core goal of the Annual Fund.
The impact of donating your time is often easy to see: volunteers in the classroom, drivers on field trips, Theme Days, Pod Days, Book Fair, etc. The impact of donations received through our fundraising efforts may not seem as obvious. This visual gives a brief snapshot of where the money raised by parents through various fundraisers is put to use to enhance your child’s experience at OSS.

Employer Match
Have you checked with your company if there is a donation matching program? Look into it for the possibility your family donation could be matched. Contact your human resources department to find out if you company will!
School Supplies
Have you bought supplies for a class or the school? You may be eligible for a Reimbursement or Tax Deductible Receipt. Please submit a completed Reimbursement / Tax Deductible Request Form and with receipt(s) to checks@osspto.org OR paper copies can be turned into the PTO box at the start of the A-wing hallway.
Library Books
These are books we would love to add to our collection. Parents can search for “Ocean Shore School Library” from their Amazon account. When they have located us, the list “OSS Library Wish List” will be accessible. Thank you for helping us keep current and interesting books in the hands of our students!
Pacific Education Foundation
The Pacifica Education Foundation (PEF) is taking education to new heights.
They completely fund educational programs which exceed California’s core school standards; which our district budget cannot accommodate. Simply, PEF funds, advances, and protects a higher quality education for OUR students.
PEF gives our children an enriched educational experience. Give back to PEF through a PEF donation and don’t forget your employer-sponsored donation matching too!
